19 Sep 3 Tips to Get Your HVAC Ready for Fall
After a hot and humid summer here in Raleigh, fall is finally on the horizon. You can almost smell the pumpkin spice everything in the air. With the change of seasons looming it’s a great time to start thinking about how your HVAC will perform in the chilly days ahead. I know, I know, you’ve almost forgotten what it feels like to not live in a sauna. Trust me there are cooler days ahead.
3 Tips to Get Your HVAC Ready for Fall
- Change your air filters. You should be doing this every month but much like your dentist knows you don’t floss every day despite their encouragement to do so, we know that most people fail to change their air filters every month. Be sure you are using those inexpensive green filters. Steer clear from the expensive filters, they do more harm than good. Keeping your system outfitted with a fresh air filter will help your system to run more smoothly.
- Adjust your thermostat settings. If you don’t have a programmable thermostat now is the time to install one. The weather patterns can be unpredictable when the seasons change. There will be weeks where you bounce back and forth between heat and air. Having a programmable thermostat helps you manage the temperature in your home more effectively.
- Schedule Check up for your HVAC system. This is where those maintenance agreements we’ve talked about come in handy. Fall and Spring are the ideal times to schedule your biyearly maintenance check up. It’s much better to discover a looming problem now then when the first cold snap hits.
Happy Fall Y’all!
With those pesky HVAC concerns out of your way, you can focus on spending time with your family, watching football, and indulging in all things Fall! As it should be.
