All American Heating and Air proudly offers Florida Heat Pump/Bosch and ClimateMaster brand geothermal heat pumps. Florida Heat Pump has been the premier manufacturer of water source and ground loop heat pumps since its founding in 1969.

All American, through a partnership with Lothridge Plumbing, now offers closed loop ground source heat pumps. Lothridge Plumbing specializes in design and installation of closed loop geothermal piping. They bring years of experience and specialized equipment.

Geothermal ground loop systems work on the same principle as standard air source heat pumps. The difference is that geothermal heat pumps take in or exhaust heat into the ground directly. This is like having your heat pump working in a perfect 55 degree day all day and night every day 365 days a year.

Air conditioning efficiency is measured in a few different ways. SEER is the most common for traditional air conditioning. The minimum efficacy rating of standard air conditioning is 13 SEER and they go as high as 18 or 20. The other way these systems are rated is EER. This is the energy efficiency rating of the unit at peak load. Most high SEER units will have an EER over 12 and up to 14.

Geothermal systems have EER ratings only because there is no seasonal adjustment necessary because it is always the same temperature outside according to your geothermal heat pump. The EER rating of a Geothermal Heat Pump can be over 30.

Because of the underground loops there is some digging necessary and the installation of a geothermal system may cost 2-3 times that of a traditional heat pump. The good news is that state and federal tax incentives will cover more than 60% of the cost. The expected life of a Florida Heat Pump is also 2-3 times as long as a traditional heat pump. The installation of a geothermal heating and cooling system can take over a week. There are several trades involved, but All American coordinates and oversees the entire job. Once the system is installed it should provide decades of worry free operation.
